SRH batted first, and Warner’s knock ensured that they posted 209/3.He struck ten fours and eight sixes on his way to a brilliant 126. SRH won the match by 48 runs and grabbed the man of the match award.
Jonny Bairstow
In his first season in IPL, the Englishman scored a superb century against RCB. Bairstow and Warner gave them a terrific start. The Aussie-English duo shared an opening stand worth 185 runs, with both openers getting a century. Warner stayed unbeaten at 100, while Bairstow was the dominator-in-chief. The wicketkeeper-batter hammered 114 runs off 56 balls, including 12 boundaries and seven sixes. SRH registered an emphatic 118-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
David Warner
In the same game, Bairstow scored a hundred, Warner played the second fiddle and anchored the SRH innings with an unbeaten 100. Warner maintained restraint at the other end as the Englishman kept going for his shots. Still, he would complete his century in 55 balls – five sixes and as many fours. His unbeaten knock was crucial for SRH, as the team batted RCB out of the match with an 185-run opening stand.
Harry Brook:
Brook was signed for ₹13.5 crore at the 2023 auction. He had to live up to the money and desperately needed a big knock. Against KKR at Eden Gardens, Brook, opening the batting, scored an unbeaten 100, which came off 55 balls. The knock saw 12 fours and three sixes. SRH posted 228/4 and won the match by 23 runs after some effective bowling.
Heinrich Klaasen:
Klaasen had to wait in the wings to make a name for himself in the IPL, and got regular opportunities in the 2023 season. He made the most of these opportunities in the league game against RCB. The South African batter took the attack to the opposition, playing a 104-run knock, which came in 51 balls. The knock saw eight fours and six sixes. By the time he was done, SRH had posted a 187-run target for RCB. However, he ended up on the losing side as Virat Kohli’s ton powered RCB home by eight wickets.
